Today’s blog is going to be very interested as I’m sharing a step-by-step process of how to make a dollhouse with the help of Cardboard. This Cardboard box craft is effortless to make and a perfect way to spend the upcoming weekend. So let’s start without any delay and take a look at the things you will need for a DIY dollhouse.
DIY Dollhouse Cardboard
To make a DIY dollhouse miniature you will need the following things:
- 20+ Sheets of 8 1/2” x 11” Cardstock
- Push Pins
- Cardboard Box
- Permanent Marker
- Knife
- Glue Sticks
- Yardstick
- Beads
- 4 Sheets of 12” x 12” Cardstock
- Cutting Mat
- 1 Sheet of 12” x 12” Cardstock
- 1 Sheet of 12”x12” Cardstock
- Green Tape
- Craft glue
- Glue & Gun
- Interior Walls
- White Paint
- 12” x 12” Sheets
- 4 Sheets of 8 1/2”x11” Wood Scrapbook Paper
1- Cut the Cardboard into a Dollhouse Shape
In the first step, you will need to create the top of the dollhouse. With the help of a knife cut off the opposite flaps from the top of the cardboard box. Now make an equilateral triangle on the other remaining flaps.
In the next step, we will create the floor of the dollhouse. For this, flip the box upside down and cut the opposing flaps and attach them with the tape. Now cut the box from the backside and leave an opening with edges on the bottom left and right side of the box.
2- DIY Dollhouse Paint & Wallpaper
After the first step, you now have the structure of the house. Paint the inner walls with your favorite color and add wallpapers. Take 2 sheets of patterned scrapbook paper and cut them into 2 pieces of 8” x 8” & 8” x 12”.
3- Add Windows and Doors
Draw out the welcome door by cutting the box from three sides into 3” x 4 1⁄2” with a knife. Now cut out the windows into smaller sizes. See the pictures so that you can understand how to do it perfectly.
4- Dollhouse Flooring
Use wood scrapbook paper to make the floor of the dollhouse. Cut the paper according to the floor size and glue it to keep it in place firmly.
5- DIY Dollhouse Siding and Window Frames
Create the siding and window frames of the dollhouse as per your liking. I used thick strips to decorate the outer side of the house. See the picture and add siding and window frames.
6- Dollhouse Upper Floors and Wall Partition
Now add the upper floors and wall partition. For this, cut the four pieces of equal sizes and attach them with glue. See the pictures below for a better understanding.
7- DIY Dollhouse Roof Idea
Now cut the cardboard according to the size of the dollhouse. Decorate the roof as per your liking. You can see the picture below for the dollhouse’s roof decoration idea.
DIY Simple Dollhouse
Now you have finished your work and a simple but elegant dollhouse is ready. I hope you will try this easy DIY craft with your kids this weekend.
